UCRA is a community organisation providing courses linked to skills shortages within Royal Borough of Greenwich, with opportunities for job interview and placement. Our courses cover ESOL, functional English and maths, health and social care, teaching, and childcare and early years.

English language lessons to help you improve your English speaking, listening, reading and writing, from beginner level and on to progression. Our tutors work to support you to learn at your pace and help you to be able to communicate in everyday life.
We offer English at various starting points – Entry Level to Level 2 and each learner is assessed to determine their appropriate level. You can progress internally within UCRA from Entry Level to L2 until you reach your goal which may be confident in the English language with increasing clarity, accuracy and effectiveness at each level, going into work or University enrolment.
Need to develop numeracy skills? We offer both accredited and non-accredited maths programmes from entry to Level 2. Being numerate is a skill for life and it's needed in all situations including portioning foods, supporting children with their homework, joining university and progression into apprenticeship. You can’t do without functional skills in maths. We enrol termly in September, January and April.
You will learn about duty-of-care, how to communicate with the service users, health and safety, safeguarding and prevention, infection control, managing dementia, and more. This is the quickest route to progress into nursing, residential and domiciliary care and we will support you all the way. There is high demand for employees in this sector and you will be supporting the country's healthcare.
This programme will enable you understand the different school systems, ethos, governance and support needs of children including special needs. Becoming a TA is suitable for those looking to work flexibly around their children's school term times. We support you to secure a placement which may lead to permanent job.
